Hi,
I just installed Arch on my Macbook Pro Retina Late 2013. After reboot I got a blank gray screen and rEFInd refuses to start. The curious thing is: I removed the arch partition (ext4) and refind starts again as if nothing has happened. What is the problem?

Okay, I guess the problem is that I deleted the ext4 drivers in my first try. Meanwhile I somewhere read, that refind is capable of finding the linux kernel and that I dont have to mount the ESP to /boot. Now I have two solutions
1) Use ESP as /boot and configure refinds conf correctly for the root partition, or
2) Use refinds ext4 drivers and dont use ESP, which is the more clean way imho.
Well, one question left: Is the ext4 driver just for the EFI bootstage, or will this driver then be used from my linux system later? Sorry maybe a dumb question. I would claim no but I am not sure.
Please feel free to correct my english.

The ext4fs driver that comes with rEFInd is an EFI driver only. Once the Linux kernel boots, it has its own ext4fs driver that it will use.
