So I've had this problem for about a month now, I couldn't figure out what the problem was after trying various different system suspend tweaks nothing worked. I also could not find where the shutdown errors were being logged ( or if they were ) so I just took pictures which I'll link to at the bottom. Has anyone experienced a similar issue and can shed some light as to whats going on here?
Usual actions before this happens:
close laptop lid,
come back 10 hours later,
open laptop lid,
wifi doesn't show any networks,
wpa_supplicant in htop hits 100% cpu usage sporadically,
type poweroff in term,
all the lockups and errors in these pictures occur:

if the locks take over 30 minutes I just hold the power button.
50% chance when it restarts wifi has same issue, 50% chance that it's "fixed"

First thing you should do is ask a moderator to move this thread to hardware as it _might_ catch more relevant answers.
Another thing: you could add lspci for the related hardware and the excerpt from the journal after a clean boot (e.g. "journalctl -b -l |grep iwlwifi" for the wifi).
To test, another thing you can do is downgrade to the kernel the system was running/resuming fine with. If that does not work out, it might be a hardware issue too.
