[SOLVED] minidlna annoyance...

ok so I have in my config

media_dir=V,/mnt/media/Video/

and in this directory are a 'Movies' and 'TV' directory... now when I access the server from my TV, the first thing I see is "All videos" and "Folders" and I do not want that. I want the first thing I see to be the Movies and TV directories.. Can this be done somehow? That is exactly how it worked for me in Mediatomb :\

I think this might be a client side limitation.  So it depends on your TV.

You could try configuring it to do each thing separately, so something like:

media_dir=V,/mnt/media/Video/Movies
media_dir=V,/mnt/media/Video/TV

But that might only make it separate from the view of the main smart TV interface.

Re: [SOLVED] minidlna annoyance...

I tried that already, it just clumped movies and tv together into the single "folders" directory.

I do not believe it is client side as I had it displaying the way I want it in mediatomb (after tweaking some of the JS) with the same TV

Re: [SOLVED] minidlna annoyance...

If mediatomb does what you want it to do, then why not use that?

Also, I believe that minidlna has been succeeded by readymedia... but I don't know much about minidlna and the various service options.  I just read that somewhere.  But maybe readymedia might handle things different/better/more to your liking.

spoke to the minidlna dev and this was actually a bug that has now been fixed - https://sourceforge.net/p/minidlna/git/ … 8041a339c/
