For the last 3-4 days, suddenly the menus and controls of all the apps which use GTK, are very slow to appear/function. They take 1-2 seconds or more.
What maybe is the cause of this?
System:
kernel: 3.13.6-1-ARCH
Radeon HD 5870
Open source radeon drivers
DE: KDE

Hi, I don't know if it's related anyhow but for the last couple of days I experience performance issues connected with GTK.
Applications became annoyingly unresponsive; it takes about one second to refresh the content of the window. I use nvidia driver 334.21-2 and kernel 3.13.6-1; GNOME3 (with gnome-shell) . At the time it happens there is no heavy load, no more than usual IO read/write.

I don't know if it's related, but it reminds me of this: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=175859
(The problem was poorly installed video drivers.)

In my case I've upgraded nvidia driver recently and I had blinking issues, it was a bug - and it has been resolved in last upgrade of clutter. But after that I started to expeirence performance issues.
[2014-03-09 18:52] [PACMAN] upgraded lib32-nvidia-utils (331.49-1 -> 334.21-2)

I'm experiencing this same issue and was affected by that same bug before the update. Anything useful we could do to further troubleshoot this? Xorg logs don't seem to report anything problematic.
Yet, the initial poster seems to be using a Radeon video card so the problem comes probably from the mesa update

That's interesting. How can I downgrade to test it?

I'd say mesa or even clutter, also updated to fix the bug.

I got the same issue as described here -> https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 0#p1391170
