So I bought this gaming card for my windows partition, and was hoping I would at least get regular use out of it here in Arch.
But so far gnome sound settings does not even list it in its sound output devices.
Googling led me here: http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index. … -hda-intel
Not sure if that is relevant, and frankly I'm not comfortable enough with Arch to translate this info into something that would be relevant for me.
Anyone else made this work?

So that's a NO then....

I just looked up the alsa support matrix for asus and if you check it is listed with the tag possible also note that there is nothing written for "supported since version". I assume that this means it is not supported.
Note: I do not own this card.

Yeah, I found that page as well it's what lead me to the HDA page. But "possible" is really as unambiguous as it gets, if it's possible, then how?
Ah well, thanks for replying anyway.

Where are you attempting to get sound from, ASUS cards often have a switch control to switch between back and front jacks, check your alsamixer for controls pertaining the used jacks (on my card it's a switch between multichannel and front panel headphones). Also this thread is nearing two years old, you usually should open a new topic and not bump threads this old.

Since nicoulaj has posted in a separate and recent topic, I will be closing this thread to prevent further noise in this thread.
