[HP Officejet Pro 8600] Low scan resolution

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8600. It works completely.
I had a script that completely worked under Ubuntu. Now Ubuntu is down the drain, I switched to Arch. The script worked with a resolution of 600:

scanimage -v -p -B100M --device-name='hpaio:/net/Officejet_Pro_8600?ip=192.168.1.137' -x 210 -y 296 --batch=output --batch-count 1 --batch-start 0 --format=tiff --mode=color --resolution=600

Now this doesn't work anymore. I have to use --resolution=300 to make it work, otherwise a very low resolution is used. Anyone got the same problem?

You might want to mention that this is an issue with scanning specifically.
