[Optimus] Question about support

Hello,

I need to replace my laptop, and as I use it for work, I need OpenGL and OpenCL support.

I am currently considering buying a Sager laptop with an Nvidia GTX 870m. But before doing so, I was wondering what was the current state of optimus support. According to the wiki, both NVidia solution and Bumblebee are valid solutions to use Optimus on arch. I don't care about power saving, as long as I can run OpenGL/CL programs on the discrete GPU.

From my understanding, I would need to go through Bumblebee as I plan to use an external monitor. So my question is : is bumblebee a stable tool now?

My current laptop doesn't have optimus, so I've never actually used it. I know it had difficult start on linux when the first optimus systems appeared, but I have no idea how well or bad it evolved. There doesn't seem to be that many people complaining about it in the forum, but I want to be sure before buying anything.

Thanks in advance.
