I have a freshly installed version of Arch Linux with the linux-ck kernel. My motherboard is z87i-deluxe with an alc1150 Realtek chip. I've installed alsamixer and I have an hdmi device and a pch device. I've made sure to unmute all channels, and I plugged my headphones in to each jack available, with only static. I do not have a dedicated sound or video card.

Also, the volume control widget doesn't appear under lxde's menu bar. It works fine on my laptop with functioning audio.

I have figured it out. Just didn't read the wiki sufficiently. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ad … ive_method

Glad you got it figured out. Even if the solution was some version of "RTFW", it's still a good idea to add [Solved] to the beginning of your thread title. That way, if people have the same issue later, they can discover the wonder of the wiki
All the best,
