According to this the design full capacity of your battery is 130 Wh, and its current full capacity is 54.38 Wh. 130 Wh seems like a lot to me, perhaps that's wrong, in which case your battery would be fine, the readings about your battery as well, it'd just be the design full capacity that is not read correctly by upower in your case.

How old is the battery? Based upon those numbers, I am guessing about four years. Maybe five.
The battery looks to have seen its share of charge cycles and is nearing the end of its design life. Li-Poly batteries usually are rated for about 300 cycles. Li-Ion are about the same At that point, the battery probably holds about 50% of its rated capacity. They degrade quickly after this point. Sorry.
If it is a new battery, then you have a different issue ![]()

According to the specs of my battery, it has a capacity of 95Wh, so @\hbar, you are right that 130Wh is high.
@ewaller, your guess was spot on. It's the original battery from a Mid-2009 Macbook Pro 17" (built in Jan 2010, bought shortly thereafter) Lithium Polymer.
