[SOLVED]Can't launch program after xorg starts
Normally I execute things on startup with xinitrc. However, there's a program that I'm trying to run, which does not seem to want to work. However, if I run it from a terminal window, it works just fine. Is there a fix for this? Can I open a terminal and then have it execute the binary?

Fixed it. There's a problem with the actual binary.

Doubtful. It's a proprietary FE for another proprietary console based binary. What was happening was that it was dying and taking X with it, but switching to icewm fixed the problem.
