[modem manager] Store SIM Pin and enable signal strength

Hey guys,

I installed modem manager in order to use the build in 3G modem in my lenovo carbon X1. The connection is working fine, but I have to things that are bothering me.

1) Every time the laptop resumes, I'm asked to put in the SIM Pin. I already added pin=1234 to the gsm section of the connection file for the modem manager. The pin is visible when I edit the connection through the gui. It also doesn't make any difference if I tick the box "save the pin", next resume and the popup is there again. Is it possible to store the SIM pin in seahorse? Because I'd rather not disable to pin completely.

2) If the connection is established, the signal strength is only visible in the logfiles, the modem manager icon still looks like this.

Is there a way to change this? Wifi signal strength is working fine by the way.

Appreciate your help!

The first one appears to be a bug and the second one a shortcoming in the software.

What is stopping you from just trying to use seahorse?

Nothing really, except I don't know _how_ to store the SIM PIN in seahorse. Is there a plugin that I should install? (I couldn't find any plugins with pacman). I'll try and fill a bug report for the first one then. Btw. I even tried changing the PIN to 0000 but even then I got the damn popup. Thanks for your help though smile
