Nautilus crashes when using search

Hi guys,

As the title says, the Nautilus crashes when I'm trying to use the search function.
Ones a symbol entered in the search field, Nautilus immediately closes.

I tried to re-install nautilus, but it still crashes.

Does anybody have the same issue?
Any idea how to fix it?

Thank you in advance

P.S. Arch i686, gnome, fully updated.

Re: Nautilus crashes when using search

Can you go to terminal and launch nautilus from there?  Post the output to a pastebin or here in [ code ] tags.

Re: Nautilus crashes when using search

Thank you for the reply

[ataf@ataflptp ~]$ nautilus
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

The phrase "Segmentation fault (core dumped)" prints after Nautilus has crashed.

Re: Nautilus crashes when using search

Did you install any extensions for nautilus? Can you downgrade nautilus and see if that works?

No, I didn't.
The only modifications I have are:

gnome-tweak-tool
User themes: GTK+, Icons, Shell
Coverflow alt-tab
Dash to Dock
Hide top bar
Openweather

I even tried to disable them all, but nothing has changed...

Just downgraded nautilus and libnautilus-extension to 3.10.0-1 (the newest available is 3.10.1-1). It has the same issue...

same issue here but in my case removing any extension and downgrading to 3.10.0-1 both nautilus and nautilus extension fix nothing,
any help?

Re: Nautilus crashes when using search

I'm also facing the same issue and I don't have any nautilus extensions installed.

Re: Nautilus crashes when using search

I have also faced the same problem. I've done 3 arch-gnome installations: two i686 where the problem has occured and one x86-64 where everything was ok. As a workaround i disabled nautilus from search at gnome control center.

I found out, that this bug only occurs when I'm logged in as user. Using nautilus as root (not sudo), works without problems.

Re: Nautilus crashes when using search

After some searching and some try and error, I found out that its a Bug in sqlite-3.8.4.*

I have downgraded to sqlite-3.8.3.1-1 and everything works fine.
