[2014-04-14 21:45] [PACMAN] upgraded yelp-tools (3.10.0-1 -> 3.12.0-1)
Now I have load of issues:
1) None of the GTK, Font or Icon themes are being applied in Cinnamon settings. My suspicion is they are being overridden by the GNOME 3.12 settings because it looks like the GNOME default themes, font and icon sets (most definitely the Cantarell font (GNOME default) is being applied, because I have the Segoe set in Cinnamon, but Cantarell is being used).
2) Media keys no longer work with applications like Banshee or VLC. The media keys do work in MATE.
3) Going to "Settings" > "Keyboard" doesn't work, and now I'm stuck with using a US keyboard layout, when I had it set to use the English (GB) layout before the upgrade. EDIT: Even changing this in dconf-editor doesn't work. It seems that this is controlled by GNOME as well (this is conjecture).
4) Settings (like default terminal, text editor) have been completely written over. Further, I have set the default terminal in Cinnamon to be terminator, but the Crtl + Alt + T key combination is not loading it (I suspect trying to load gnome-terminal, which I don't have installed). However, it seems like the other Default Applications (Music Player, Text Editor, Video Player, Browser) have been preserved.
Does anyone else have these issues?

Claire is fine.
Problems? I have dysgraphia, so clear and concise please.

Yes.
cinnamon-settings gives me the following output before segfaulting when selecting keyboard:

So this is from running cinnamon-settings in terminal
claire ~ % cinnamon-settings
** (cinnamon-settings.py:20010): WARNING **: Couldn't register with accessibility bus: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

And this is what happens when I click "Keyboard":

And my session just crashes on start. Nothing in glass.log.

I'm going to wait until these two are updated before I start reporting bugs, purely because it may just be that not all the updates have been pushed at the same time.

I can confirm all of these. Plus the panel seems buggy (a custom, bigger menu-icon leads some panel-components to gain thickness, very ugly) and startx takes approx. 5 times as long as before. But in difference to dRaiser it at least works somehow..
[edit] one more thing: natural scrolling is broken too

the question is why the maintainer uploads testing packages that make the whole system unsuable, do you guys know which packages to downgrade ? I get nothing but blue screen later on it says cinnamon crashed and do you want to restart or not.

It takes very long to login cinnamon, and can find no clue wait it waiting. sigh.

I just tried to install Cinnamon alongside GNOME and ran into several issues, mainly Cinnamon taking too long to start and black boxes with crossed out circles instead of icons in the control center. I noticed that when I did a pacman -S cinnamon many cinnamon packages were at 2.2.x-y, while others were still at 2.0. I'm guessing this is causing some problems. I would wait until all of the necessary packages have been updated.
Offline
I can confirm most of the problems, long pause on login, font-settings don't apply (especially the standard font is really small and almost unreadable). Also all windows were set to completely transparent, So I thought nothing would start at all at first. Resetting opacity from the right-click menu did show them again. I didn't check which packages are 2.2 and which 2.0 because I updated this morning before leaving for work.
The not updated control-center and settings-daemon might be to blame for some of these, so I'll wait for a (hopefully soon) update of these two before investigating further.

It wasn't the Cinnamon maintainer that bumped them, it was the GNOME 3.12 maintainer... Read #179 of this thread (about half way down on the page).

similar problems after upgrading

Same problems here, desktop environment broken. There are lots of custom patches for Arch's cinnamon-settings-daemon, so it's not trivial to update it to 2.2.

Just done this upgrade 10 minutes ago, and Cinnamon stuff is still broken.

I can too confirm all of the above mentioned problems. Also the Menu-Applet does not work and the button is over sized. If i click it it shows an empty bubble.

A little warning on the main page would be nice.

I can confirm all of these problems. I was able to fix the oversized panel icons problem by going into the panel settings and telling cinnamon to scale the icons to the size of the panel (yeah it's an option that is only conditionally available, but selecting it while the conditions are right seems to force the setting to persist even when the conditions aren't right).

I too have problems. The most problematic one is the keyboard mapping and since cinnamon-settings crashes every time I try to change the mappings... arghhhh...
Besides the mapping, 'alt-gr' is not working anymore and is considered as 'alt'
Does anybody facing this too ?

Confirming major problems. I just realized another issue: upower seems to not detect my battery:

Currently, I am using sysfs and bc to calculate my battery charge. This is annoying.
Btw, I'm on testing...

Would it make sense to open a bug report for this? (can confirm the upower issue, by the way)
