Are you sure the interface is up? You can check with 'ip link'. If it is down, 'sudo ip link set wlp2s0 up' should solve it.
Other than this, I don't know how to help. Never had any other problems with the Wi-Fi.

It is up, it briefly connects to the network then disconnects going 'dormant' in the status and 'mode' listed by ip link
I don't understand why its working fine for you but not me then :S There is no reason why it shouldn't be working?
We do have the same chip right? BCM4360 (14e4-43a0)

I've seen this, as well. It seems to vary, depending on the WiFi network (though I haven't seen a correlation with signal strength).

Interesting, I was connecting to a wifi-n router that was about 2m away from me. showing ~85% strength.
I'm elseware now, I can try again on a different network.
edit: No luck, exactly the same issues.

Just updated to 3.14 and removed the "libata.force=noncq" parameter. Everything seems to be ok( rMBP 11,2 with 512GB SSD).
I'll update this post if I notice anything different.
awesome, will give that a try too. Finally!! Have to admit, first day on 3.14 and have noticed a good improvement with speed of stuff!
What command did you use to create the boot.efi image?
Offline
Edited refind_linux.conf in /boot, ran 'sudo mkinitcpio -p linux' to regenerate the images and that was all.
Yup, same wireless chip( Broadcom Corporation BCM4360 802.11ac Wireless Network Adapter, 14e4:43a0 (rev 03)). I have my wireless managed by netctl-auto if that helps :-??

Okay, I will take a look and see if that works any better, otherwise I am really really confused at why it doesn't want to work.. I'll go back and re do everything too and see if that helps at all.

my wifi sometimes goes into dormant. Never can get it back, end up having to reboot.
Cheers regulament, I don't run refind but worked out the command to create the image.
grub-mkstandalone -o boot.efi -d /usr/lib/grub/x86_64-efi -O x86_64-efi /boot/grub/grub.cfg
Turned off libata as well. Havent had any problems so far, massive performance increase though!

Mine is doing it without fail, but I don't have to reboot to get it back. Why are there such different results for the same system?

Would be interested to hear the opinion of people on switching the Broadcom wifi out for something else. I've had loss of signal from time to time and wonder if there are any power advantages with different models.

Okay.. I've gone back to the beginning and no luck, and I've tried downgrading the kernel to 3.12.9 with no luck also. It has to be something I'm doing wrong

Is it normal that everytime I upgrade the kernel, I need to reinstall the broadcom driver?

yup.. have to admit on the new kernel the broadcom driver has became super unreliable.

You could install the dkms variant of the broadcom driver. Once you go through the process of setting up dkms for it, which was a bit convoluted (and I don't remember all the steps), it will recompile the driver whenever it detects you booting with a kernel that doesn't have it.

woah thanks! I didn't know that. My ArchBook is now pretty useable with GNOME.
One thing is still missing.. I'd like to have a few finger gestures but that "touchegg" didn't work properly - is there a alternative or am I somehow able to achieve this with synaptics?

The xf86-input-mtrack driver has some more Mac-like qualities, including gestures and proper thumb detection. Unfortunately it's not in active development currently (though the developer is still accepting patches) and doesn't seem to have good input filtering — small movements might cause the cursor to twitch around a bit. I've actually wanted to try to write that feature in, but I'm not too familiar with the driver's internals...

Has anybody managed to somehow block the SD Card Reader from starting up and eating all that power? (It's frustrating for me when I open powertop to see the SD Card Reader there)

The card reader seems better behaved on my 11,1 with the 3.14.0-5 kernel (powertop reports it as using 0 mW when autosuspend is turned on for it. The keyboard still seems rather power hungry, though.

Ubuntu least version 14.04 has supported Hi-DPI, I dint' give a try. When will arch support this?

Ubuntu doesn't have it any better than other distros afaik.

Does anyone know how to activate the intel chip on the MBP 11,2 model? I installed i3, but when I do `startx` it complains and says no screens found...

11,2 only has the integrated Intel GPU, which shouldn't need any tricks if you're using latest kernel.

Does anyone have any issues with the battery suddenly stopping at 99% and status going to `unknown`Its irritating me
( I also worked out why my wifi was derping, had dhcpcd active without realising it)

@Meizirkki - I'm a dufus, didn't install the intel drivers...
@lutzee what program is giving you that status?
In terms of configuring the desktop environment, I was wondering what you guys use? (e.g. i3, xmonad, xfce?) I'm asking because while I have read the docs on configuring the DPI to make things readable. I haven't had much luck, and would like to steal some of you guy's config if you have them
Thanks

I am running BSPWM on mine. No special config, I *love* not having huge icons and toolbars and more icons in my way.
Just set the Zoom in browser to 200% or something like that(210 in Opera, 220 dwb and 200 in Chrome for me), large icons everywhere( folder icons in the file manager for example) and a huge font in terminal and dmenu(Anonymous Pro 24) and you basically get my set-up. The default font( application menus for example) is Cantarell 14( set from lxappearance). A bit small, but I like it.
@lutzee: it goes to unknown because it's not charging up anymore. IIRC Apple has set up the battery so it charges really really slow above a certain percentage( for me it's about 94% I think) to improve the battery's lifetime . The status is unknown in acpi and the LED on the charger green.
