pivot_root message during bootup

Hi all,

During bootup just before INIT, the following message is displayed:

pivot_root: pivot_root: Invalid argument

I'm booting the 2.6.15-archck kernel.
My pc seems to work fine. But why is this message displayed? Just curious.

Cheers,
Jules

I just saw that in my boot too.  I as well have no clue what it means.

Re: pivot_root message during bootup

It's safe to ignore.  It has to do with the initrd/initramfs, but I don't know the entire details.  I'm sure iphitus could explain, if he really felt like it.

Re: pivot_root message during bootup

Its just a minor mistake on my behalf in the initramfs system. When I have time, I will be giving mkinitramfs a big cleanup, which should remove this. In the meantime, it's entirely harmless.
