Anyone know how to make xwindow background transparent?(xcompmgr)

I run composite manager xcompmgr.But the background of 32 bit window I create is black.like 24 bit window,no special     
behavior.The WM is Openbox.Should I set something with it?I really need your help.

yes, I read the page before.I mean the background of the window,not the whole.That is ,when I tun xcompmgr, the background of the window should be transparent.

In other words, the issue is that the background of argb windows, or the parts that should be transparent are black right?
Anyway you should've at least posted the command you're using to launch xcompmgr. Do you get any errors if you launch it from command line?

I don't think xcompmgr is actively mainained anymore. You might have better luck with compton for example.
