[SOLVED]Getting a black screen after login after upgrading to KDE 4.13

Hello,

Yesterday I upgraded to KDE 4.13 and it seems that Plasma is not working for me anymore. When I login, the only thing that happens is that I get a black screen. Funnily enough, things like  "Run command" (Alt + F2) still work. So, in a terminal I run "plasma-desktop" and I get the following line:

plasma-desktop: error while loading shared libraries: libnepomukutils.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

This happens regardless I have Nepomuk installed or not (before the upgrade I had Nepomuk disabled if it's important :P). This does not happen, for example when I run "plasma-netbook". Then plasma seems to load as usual (but in netbook mode of course, and I don't want that :P).

Any ideas ?

My upgrade failed also, but my screen is white.

I am getting several message boxes with :
"This object could not be created for" and a red X on the left of them.

It couldn't start Dropbox.

Upon initial boot, while not yet in KDE, I can see that my internet connection is OK.

Just for your info, in case it helps: I haven't upgraded my kde applications to kde 4.13 yet and libnepomukutils.so.4 is provided by extra/kdelibs 4.12.4-1. It seems that this file is missing in the new kdelibs 4.13.0-1, though.

I get this:

$ pkgfile libnepomukutils.so.4
extra/kdelibs

$ pacman -Q kdelibs 
kdelibs 4.12.4-1

Edit: I just found this thread. KDE 4.13 now uses baloo instead of nepomuk, it seems. I haven't read the whole thread yet, but maybe it helps you with the problem.

Check your system is up-to-date. You should have kdebase-workspace 4.11.8-2 which doesn't link to nepomuk in any way.

Check your /usr/local for some file related to KDE, also could you list the packages installed from AUR ($ pacman -Qqm)?

I'm a Kate & KDevelop developer and I have them installed manually. As you can see, for some amazing reason libktexteditor requires libnepomukutils. Uninstalled, now it works.
