[SOLVED] NetworkManager crashes after update

Hi All,

I'm on KDE x86_64, weekly updated (but I've also observed this on a i686 machine).
After upgrading to NetworkManager to 0.9.8.9-1 it crashes every time I refresh the list of available networks using the applet (kdeplasma-applets-plasma-nm 0.9.3.3-1).

[administrator@antonio-clevo-p150sm ~]$ systemctl status NetworkManager
● NetworkManager.service - Network Manager
   Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/NetworkManager.service; enabled)
Active: failed (Result: core-dump) since mar 2014-04-22 09:55:35 CEST; 8min ago
  Process: 374 ExecStart=/usr/bin/NetworkManager --no-daemon (code=dumped, signal=SEGV)
 Main PID: 374 (code=dumped, signal=SEGV)

Am I the only one experiencing this?

Any idea?

Regards.
Antonio.

Re: [SOLVED] NetworkManager crashes after update

Try moving out all of your configuration files in /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections and use an empty user account. Just to rule out a corrupt config file issue.

Re: [SOLVED] NetworkManager crashes after update

Hi Rexilion,

I tried both removing connections from /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections and logging in as a newly created user to no avail.

Any other suggestion?

If I'm the only one experiencing this and this is happening on both my x86_64 and i686 machines, then it must have something to do with the similar setup the machines have.

What other config/runtime files are releavant to NM?

Regards.
Antonio.

Re: [SOLVED] NetworkManager crashes after update

SystemD service files, dbus configuration files and /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf come to mind.

Re: [SOLVED] NetworkManager crashes after update

Whatever the cause, the issue disappeared after upgrading NM to 0.9.8.10-1 today.
Marking this as solved.

Antonio.
