Smplayer version 14.3.0-1
qt5-base 5.2.1-3
mplayer 37051-2
Starting smplayer from terminal doesn't give any clues. Neither does mplayer. Regular pausing does work and it is chosen in smplayer settings (and unchosen and chosen again). All relevant apps are reinstalled; smplayer, mplayer, qt5-base, qt5-quickcontrols, qt5-script and all others are up-to-date as well.
Anyone else experiencing this? Any clues?
EDIT: from terminal ""Qt Warning - invalid keysym: dead_actute"" - does not seem relevant.
EDIT#2: checked the svn source code and bugtracker - no indications there either

some offtop - in your system (in smplayer) working keys "/" and "*" for volume control?
After upgrade (0.8.6-1 -> 14.3.0-1) works only 0 and 9, but not / and *.

You can work it around with this command:
smplayer -send-action pauseIt works as a play/pause toggle. You bind it to a key and it should be problem solved.
