When I boot my machine, GDM displays only local usernames. If I hit ctrl+alt+f2 to switch a virtual console, then switch back to GDM, the NIS usernames are displayed.
I thought it had something to do with X/GDM starting before ypbind, so I altered '/etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/ypbind.service' to include 'display-manager.service' and 'gdm.service' in the 'Before' constraint. No dice.
Not sure if relevant, but the Ubuntu 14.04 machine setup on the same NIS domain and GDM etc doesn't suffer from this issue.
Any suggestions? Thanks
