dwb extensions

I'm having trouble installing firefox extensions into dwb.

I go to dwb:plugins and it shows the plugins that are already there (just flash now). It shows the path as a mozilla directory and a .so extension of the file name.

The extensions that I download from the firefox website have a .xpi (apparently just a zip file renamed). Simply moving the file into dwb doesn't work.

So my question is this... how do I get extensions to work in dwb? It's my new favourite program and want to get the most out of it!

There's not really any instructions anywhere and the dwb section on arch isn't all that helpful.

Cheers folks

Where did you get the idea that this would work?!

@ jpjenkins

Apart from what WonderWoofy wrote,  considering that dwb is webkit based, it is anyway not possible to have Firefox addons work with it. Maybe Chrome extensions (with some porting), but definitely not Firefox.

It was a comment there that I think threw me off. It seems it's only dwb-git and there's a limited amount... is this right?

Sorry folks.

Re: dwb extensions

While this is open I may as well ask...

The two extensions that I find really useful in chrome are the dictionary and hoverzoom. Are there alternatives out there?

Re: dwb extensions

I think the only available extensions are listed with 'dwbem -a'.
What does the dictionary chrome extension do?

Re: dwb extensions

When you double click a word in the browser a wee window pops up with the definition, really useful.

Looked into it more and sure enough, limited plugins but it supports adblock so all good smile
