Re: switching from current to testing

keep both current and extra but put testing above them in pacman.conf or 'older' packages from current will be grabbed instead of the testing ones. Testing isn't a complete repo, it only contains packages that are untested, so all other packages come from the other repos.

Re: switching from current to testing

thanks dusty. are there any issues with package names? are testing packages named the same as the current ones? for example if i have fubar installed which has a package name of fubar1-1 but on testing it is fubar2-1, will it upgrade the installed package or will i have it on there twice?

Re: switching from current to testing

The testing packages have the same names as the ones in current/extra. If you have fubar-1.0-1 installed from extra and fubar-2.0-1 is in testing, then fubar-2.0-1 will be installed (thus replacing fubar-1.0-1).
