Hello, everyone!
I am on my first day on Archlinux, so exciting! Learning installing a linux distro on command line makes me feel good. I like Arch.

Hi
"I'm a newbie to Arch" .
Looking forward to learning arch and using arch on a regular basis. Moved from one of the easy to use distros (was not unhappy with the other distro - just wanted "my own system"). Here I go : HELLO

I am new to Arch - I mean Ive been playing with Arch as a dualboot with openSuse - both distros are nice and well-working on.
Yesterday I erased Suse partition so now Im with Arch only. I dont regret it (so far)........

I think you are looking for here. The NC is more for general issues more than anything else.

Hello. 31/M/PA, US
Posting for posterity.
I have ideas.... I'm a creative person. When I learn about stuff I take that information can come up with my own ideas. I've opted to use Arch for my desktop because I think that using the OS daily, verus hopping onto my server once in a while, will speed up the learning process. I would like to do something that makes me money, mainly so I could have more free time to work on stuff. Ultimately, I'd like to contribute something useful to the world. I'm not sure that another social app is going to do this. I have a lot of admiration for those who work on projects where making money isn't the primary goal.
I feel that AI is an inevitability and that using it properly will help humanity. Whether or not I'm smart enough to ever be able to contribute to AI is another story. I'll just have to see as I go along.
And uhh, I game, too. You can PM me for my steam if you want to add another linux gamer.

Hi Frosty
Maybe you should take a look Code Club at http://codeclubworld.org/ I am a volunteer myself. It's a terrific way of giving something back to society. You don't get paid, in fact the way I do it costs me money, but I think there are more important things than making money.
Welcome to Arch.

Hi everyone,
I'm jon and am a cs student. I just got a new samsung ativ book 9 for my birthday so I decided to completely erase windows and commit 100% to arch. I thought I would register on the forums to figure out how to fix (instead of just (dmesg -D)-ing) my usb issues that i think are coming from the touchscreen display. Thanks everyone for the community.

Hi. Been running Arch for 4 months and lurking on the forum, but I finally registered today. I was using Ubuntu and Mint for about 3 years before switching to Arch, but I have learnt more about Linux since installing Arch than all the time spent with the other distros.

print "Hello World"
is not the full extent of my programming knowledge, But is Java So I'm useless
I came to Arch two Months ago, I used Ubuntu Gnome before that for four. But I came too Linux on Fedora which I used for about 6 days.
I never thought the command line could bring me so much joy. I loved the install
I have learnt more about Linux since installing Arch than all the time spent with the other distros.
I won't say how awesome Arch is as Everyone here knows that and...
Not much sense in posting if you just want to post that "Arch Rocks" (in whatever form of leetspeak you prefer, of course).

Just spent 2 days installing Arch, having moved across from Ubuntu. Still getting to grips with Arch; I had the joys of netctl and Networkmanager competing with each other for a few hours, but enjoying it so far...
Working: Virtualbox running Windows 7 that moved across flawlessly from Ubuntu; Skype
Still to do: Dropbox; Copy; get_iplayer
ps. Is the registration process (what is "date -u +%...") an entrance exam?

Anti-spam and to make sure you're at least using a *NIX.
I may have to CONSOLE you about your usage of ridiculously easy graphical interfaces...

Thanks for the reply, Nomorewindows, I have a working system now - except for get_iplayer!

It's in the AUR. You can probably use mplayer/mplayer-vaapi (intel).
