Re: [Solved] gnome-shell 3.12.0 crashing

The only packages  needing upgrading is chromium, linux, and qt4, upgrading chromium and qt4 will not solve problem, and upgrading linux "I can't'" because I've a patch applied to it, so i'll need rebuild newer version, and i think that this will not solve the problem, or will ?

Why can't you upgrade and just re-apply your patch? After all, you did it once already, right? What's the output of "uname -a"?

Re: [Solved] gnome-shell 3.12.0 crashing

Reinstall the package "js" and post output of the following command:

ldd /usr/lib/libmozjs-24.so

Re: [Solved] gnome-shell 3.12.0 crashing

@mrunion, to do this I'll need rebuild, which take a lot of time, what I haven't right now.

victor@Victor-PC ~ % uname -a
Linux Victor-PC 3.14.0-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Apr 8 15:07:45 BRT 2014 x86_64 GNU/Linux

@korn36, reinstalled, output:

victor@Victor-PC ~ % ldd /usr/lib/libmozjs-24.so
	linux-vdso.so.1 (0x00007fff5b7fe000)
	libpthread.so.0 => /usr/lib/libpthread.so.0 (0x00007f5e879b8000)
	libnspr4.so => /usr/lib/libnspr4.so (0x00007f5e8777a000)
	libz.so.1 => /usr/lib/libz.so.1 (0x00007f5e87564000)
	libstdc++.so.6 => /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6 (0x00007f5e8725f000)
	libm.so.6 => /usr/lib/libm.so.6 (0x00007f5e86f5e000)
	libc.so.6 => /usr/lib/libc.so.6 (0x00007f5e86bb6000)
	/usr/lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 (0x00007f5e883a9000)
	libdl.so.2 => /usr/lib/libdl.so.2 (0x00007f5e869b1000)
	librt.so.1 => /usr/lib/librt.so.1 (0x00007f5e867a9000)

Does the Gnome Fallback/Flashback session crash too?

Re: [Solved] gnome-shell 3.12.0 crashing

You really should test if this happens with up to date system, and stock arch kernel.
Also having a patched kernel shouldn't be an excuse not to upgrade
What's the patch you've applied to the kernel for anyway?

Re: [Solved] gnome-shell 3.12.0 crashing

@korn36, crash too.

@ooo, system is up-to-date now, except by kernel, and patch that I've applied is to add Nokia Asha 305 as unusual dev.

Re: [Solved] gnome-shell 3.12.0 crashing

if you create a new user, does gnome-shell work with no errors?  If so, then this might be caused by a configuration file hidden in ~/.config or a dconf setting

Re: [Solved] gnome-shell 3.12.0 crashing

With recent upgrade to     3.12.1 the crashes stopped, and now it's working correctly.
