KDE and LXDE sessions not showing up in GDM

I've got a working Gnome Desktop environment and recently installed the two DE's for testing purposes

pacman -S lxde-common openbox kdebase

I still get only the Gnome set of sessions at GDM login. I tried adding

/home/<mydefaultuser/.xinitrc:
exec gnome-session
exec startlxde
exec startkde

It didn't help.

If I'm not mistaken, GDM polls /usr/share/xessions for relevant .desktop files (and not your .xinitrc). See here for some more info.

Thanks. This should do. It's weird though. On other distros new entries appear automatically after installing a new desktop environment. Is Arch different or did I do something wrong while installing the DE's?
