i3 allows you to float. Sometimes I just need to open a quick term (sandbox style) so just bind a floating term to a keybind. Tend to have firefox opened fullscreen on workspace 3. Just need to turn off this stupid laptop touchpad as it makes typing a real nightmare.....

Sorry for the necrobump but I got into a similar issue with Google Chrome while running spectrwm (v3.3.0). I've resolved my issue adding this quirks on my configuration files (~/.spectrwm.conf):

quirk[Google-chrome:google-chrome] = IGNORESPAWNWS

Sorry for the necrobump but I got into a similar issue with Google Chrome while running spectrwm (v3.3.0). I've resolved my issue adding this quirks on my configuration files (~/.spectrwm.conf):

quirk[Google-chrome:google-chrome] = IGNORESPAWNWS

This is a 6 years old thread... If you don’t have an issue and there’s no current similar thread then why the necrobump...
