so slow to pass from bash to kdm

I've installed arch on my lap-top (Asus with Intel centrino). The problem is this. If I go to ctrl-alt-F1 and after to ctrl-alt-F7, the screen seems blocked, I can't use my mouse and I can't write anything (user and password). After 20-30 seconds it works correctly. There is a reason or something that I've to change. Kde instead works correctly (until now).
