[SOLVED] Attempting to patch existing file?

Hey all, I'm trying to port FruityWifi and the base httpd.conf requires patching, and I'm struggling to get it to work.

Currently it complains about permissions, and I'm not even sure I'm doing it the optimal way.

Here is the PKGBUILD so far, here is the patch.

What do you think is in $pkgdir during the build phase?

I'll give you a hint:

$ man PKGBUILD
...
       pkgdir
           This contains the directory where makepkg bundles the installed package (this
           directory will become the root directory of your built package). This variable should
           only be used in the package() function.
...

It looks to me as though you're trying to patch the /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf owned by apache. This is not possible while you're building your package (unless makepkg is run as root, which it shouldn't be), and is a terrible idea in the first place. If changes need to be made to a file provided by a different package, you should inform the user of this requirement in the .install file (see 'man PKGBUILD').

I wasn't thinking, I was just throwing stuff into the pot, per se. Ok, I'll stick it in the .install, I was just seeing if I could do it without. Thanks.
