[SOLVED] lts kernel boots fine but 3.14 doesn't. UUID not found

the uuid it prints out is fine.
the lts kernel boots fine
Ive run mkinitcpio again but no luck.
I dont understand why the lts kernel can find and boot that UUID but 3.14 can't

what should i do?

Check the lines for the 3.14 kernel in the boot loader conf file and compare them with the lines for the lts kernel.
They should differ in some way.

Re: [SOLVED] lts kernel boots fine but 3.14 doesn't. UUID not found

I use rEFInd.
There is only one refind.conf.
And one refind_linux.conf (the UUID in here is correct and matches what 3.14 kernel says it cant find).
Am i looking at the right files?

the lts kernel works great but it bugs me that 3.14 wont work.

Re: [SOLVED] lts kernel boots fine but 3.14 doesn't. UUID not found

i renamed the vmlinuz and respective initramfs to include version numbers and i can boot both fine
thanks again Rod! http://www.rodsbooks.com/refind/linux.html#easiest

When i get to the log in prompt of 3.14 however the computer resets after abt 2 seconds.
it just restarts.

I've had this problem with every version of 3.14 but that another topic.
