NVIDIA: Black screen after boot

Hello,

I have a black screen after boot. The system works fine, I can log in and type "startx", after that picture comes up. I can see text in tty when I log out from DE, but after boot all I see is a black screen.

Graphic card:
$ lspci | grep NVIDIA
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GK104 [GeForce GTX 760] (rev a1)

Video driver:
$ yaourt -Q nvidia
extra/nvidia 337.12-1

It's an old problem since I bought NVIDIA card more than a year ago, so it doesn't depend on recent updates. I tried some tips I found in the Internet such as kernel params like nvidia.modeset or vga=xxx, but none of them worked. Is there any solution?

Re: NVIDIA: Black screen after boot

Wondering if this is related to an issue I'm having with my laptop (also an old, actually really old nvidia card). If so, I think I've isolated it to some sort of power management bug - as long as I move the mouse (I think keyboard mashing works too) while it loads the GUI, it's fine, but otherwise I get a black screen. I haven't had time to troubleshoot it much yet, but thought I'd toss this here in case it helps narrow down your search.

Do you have a keyboard shortcut to increase screen brightness? If so, next time it's blank, try raising the brightness level with the keyboard shortcut and see if the screen was just dim.
