Hi guys!
Yesterday registered and had few unsuccessful attempts to make first post with firefox 29. Today decided to try to post with QtWeb browser. I think the problem is in the firefox prefs. Since this is my first post I cannot see how to include the prefs file to show you the settings. Any help will be much appreciated!

What is actually preventing you from posting when using Firefox?

This is the message I received on yesterday's attempts
Bad HTTP_REFERER. You were referred to this page from an unauthorized source. If the problem persists please make sure that 'Base URL' is correctly set in Admin/Options and that you are visiting the forum by navigating to that URL. More information regarding the referrer check can be found in the FluxBB documentation.
Now this reply is with firefox 29 but using the default/original prefs file for firefox 26. So it must be the prefs file.

Are you using addons which could cause this probelm? If not, then try a new firefox profile, and see if the problem persists.
$ firefox -profilemanager

that suggest it may have to do with https protocol.
Do you have firefox extensions that change https behaviour ?
(some changes in about:config might have the same effect)

It could be a plugin problem they can be the source of browser misbehavior at times. I do not believe, however, that the problem is NoScript as suggested by Pierre in the link provided by loafter.
I use NoScript, ABP, Disconnect and HTTPS everywhere and have no problems posting in the Arch forums ... I'm posting right now
Try disabling all plugins in FF and then post something. If it goes, then, it is one of your plugins. Then you can begin to re-enable them one at a time until you find the one that's the problem. Once found, remove it.
It could also be a firewall issue. Do you have one enabled? Check the logs to see if there are any clues ...

Check if network.http.sendRefererHeader is set to 2 in about:config
@korn36 Thank you!
Changing this to 2 solved the problem. It was 0.
In fact first checked the addons and when all of them didn't affect the firefox behaviour I checked the RefererHeader.
Thank you very much guys!
P.S. This is from Pierre from the link suggested by loafer
I am the maintainer of the Arch Linux forums and we had a few issues with this referer check. Usually people either use soem extension or manually disabled sending the referer (see about:config).

i do have the same problem to post from ff because of Bad HTTP_REFERER issue.
Why it can't be ignored?
P.S. network.http.sendRefererHeader=2 and still doesn't work. I did temporarly change, but disagree too keep that option permanent.
Well didn't help anyway.

lefsha,
Hi. This is an old thread, so I am going to go ahead and close it. Please start a new thread and, if you feel this thread is relevant, go ahead and link back to it.
I think you are fighting a new problem.
