A while back I decided to switch over primarily to terminal applications for most of my daily usage. I quickly found CMus, and have fallen in love with it.
However, I've noticed that some of my music doesn't display the tagging properly in it. The tags show correctly in applications like Audacious, and when I open the file to tag, everything seems to still be correct. I've even used EasyTag to try different tagging systems, and nothing seems to work. Would anyone have any ideas as to why this is?

Be specific. Check your character encoding (id3_default_charset). Tagging with MusicBrainzs Picard never gave me problems with cmus or any other player.

Ah, thanks. While I had been playing around with different encodings to see if they were the issue, I hadn't known about the id3 charset option. Changed it to UTF-8. Didn't fix it though, the tag fields still didn't show up quite right. Took some time to figure out that to show the corrected tag, I had to remove the .cmus/cache file.
For the record, switching the tag format to ID3v2.3 in UTF format, in addition to what is mentioned above, is what worked for me.
