evince doesnt work

Hi,

Days ago, evince stops  working with pdf  or djvu. And the error messages are

Unable to open document "file:///.....pdf"

File type Text Document (text/plain) is not supported

Unable to open document "file:///.....djvu"

File type application/octet-stream type (application/octet-stream) is not supported

Then I tried to downgrade to evince-3.10.3-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz  and  evince-3.10.0-2-i686.pkg.tar.xz. They didnt work.

I also  reinstalled those dependencies: dconf desktop-file-utils djvulibre gnome-icon-theme gsettings-desktop-schemas gsfonts gtk3  libgxps libsecret libspectre poppler-glib t1lib. No lucky.

Hope someone could tell me what I should do.

Are you sure you're trying to open an actual PDF or DJVu file?

File type Text Document (text/plain) is not supported

File type application/octet-stream type (application/octet-stream) is not supported

sounds really suspicious to me. Have you tried running file on those files to be sure about their types?

Otherwise, have you tried installing e.g. zathura with zathura-pdf-poppler as backend to see if it's related to libpoppler?

1>There are actual pdf files, because right now I can use qpdfview to open them.

sudo pacman -S  zathura-pdf-poppler

then zathura can open pdf files correctly. But evince still doesnt work.

And "reinstalling poppler, poppler-glib" doesnt help.
