Searching a Web-Based "Todo" Application

Hi guys,

I'm currently trying to host as much of the typical PIM-Stuff on my Arch Linux ARM-ODROID-Mini Server.

I am still searching for a free open-source Todo-List Websoftware, e.g. like Wunderlist, which allows to manage several todo-lists with items (including due dates, descriptions etc.). It should be a web application which can be used in the browser (mobile use is not necessary).

Projects which I already considered:
- NitroTasks: I really like the minimalistic GUI, but it is no web application (so using it from another computer is not possible)
- Tracks: GTD based Todo management, but seems a little bit overkill for my needs.
- TaskFreak: I didn't like the Look&Feel of the application

Some further research mostly provided tutorials for various web-frameworks or full-blown project management software.

Do you have any hints for me?

Best regards
pyro

Taskwarrior has a whole lot of frontends.

Here's a web based one:

A list of frontends:

Note: I only use pure cli based taskwarrior, so I have no idea how this fits your needs.

Edit: Here's another one: https://inthe.am/about

As long as you're brainstorming, I'll throw out a crazy option: eyeOS is an "operating system in a web browser" that you can host yourself. I think it comes with a todo application, but I don't remember the details.

This is a terrible explanation of why you didn't like TaskFreak. tongue Was it otherwise fully functional, with all of functionality you need?

Thanks for the hint. I'll take a look.

Well, it had the basic functionality, i.e. todo items and lists ('Projects' for TaskFreak), but it just looks kinda 'crusty'. But the more technical reason is that it apparently needs a mysql server running. Since I already have most of my services running on PostgreSQL, I don't like the thought of running a second DBMS just for one application.

I might have found another solution and that is just using todo.txt, synchronized using BitTorrent sync and then use one of the HTML5-webapps to display and edit the items.

In that case I suggest you to create your todolist in Markdown and use stackedit to edit it. Exactly what I did:

I like to use Google Keep and it works well. It seems a bit unknown, but can be found at https://keep.google.com/. That is if you're in to Google services smile.

Not a fan of google per se but thank you for the link!  I too have been looking for a ToDo list app that I can use across multiple computers.  I'd hug you but this big_smile will have to do.
