Udev upgrade 079-1 -> 084-3

Hi,

The last upgrade of udev 079-1 -> 084-3 resulted in powernow-k8 not starting.

Powernow-k8 says:
powernow-k8: MP systems not supported by PSB BIOS structure

I have an AMD64. Before the upgrade the module worked fine.
This is the relevant part of /var/log/pacman.log:

Re: Udev upgrade 079-1 -> 084-3

Maybe the problem is not caused by the upgrade of udev but by another package?

The solution will probably be re-compiling the kernel with powernow-k8 enabled but I like the kernel like it is now. Easier to upgrade too.
Also my curiousity asks myself which package-upgrade-action is causing this.

Check the order of module loading for any clue to your prob....

have you updated the kernel too?
we have a bug entry about this issue, 2.6.15 seems to be bugged.

Re: Udev upgrade 079-1 -> 084-3

Yes I upgraded the kernel too.
I have two Archlinux's on my system. One 'extended' and the other one just to backup and restore with partimage.
One has the problem and the other (smaller) one has not. Both make use of the same kernel but after you mentioning the bug report I am not so sure anymore smile I will look again.
Next time I will also check the bug reports. Forgot that, sorry.
Thanks!
