HP M1132 not working on Arch linux! (Ubuntu ok)

I'm so tired to fight with this printer. (Hewlett packard laserjet M1132 MFP)
Please Help!
I used original distro from archlinux.org. And I always installing all packets from the internet.

I can't force it to printing!
I try to do it in many ways.
Some of this ways:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=157306
http://kiawin.com/blog/2013/07/howto-ad … linux.html
I used SIUtility before and this printer work well on ubuntu 10.04, 12.04. BUT Arch Linux - don't print in any way.

I guess it's related with cups version. But how to install with current versions of cups???

My info:
Linux comp 3.11.6-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Sat Oct 19 00:29:46 CEST 2013 i686 GNU/Linux
cups 1.7.0-1
cups-filters 1.0.53-1
hplip 3.14.4-1
foo2zjs 20140418-1
dmesg and lsusb shows this printer in system.

After install, I try to print anything - it's suspended and nothig is printing.

How Can I force to print it in Arch linux?

OK, so have you actually tried to follow the Wiki page on CUPS? https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/CUPS

Also, you might want to change your title to make it clear what your problem is. I first thought it was a laptop problem.

EDIT: Partial upgrades... This is going to go well. In the repositories, CUPS is version 1.7.2 and the kernel is 3.14.4 right now IIRC. Why are you holding back packages from [core] and [extra]?

This may not be partial upgrades (or perhaps I'm missing the evidence of that) - it may just be a not fully up-to-date system.  But still a `pacman -Syu` is a good first troubleshooting step for most arch issues.

forumuser, I second the suggestion for a better title.  More informative would be better - and I assure you, less "Please HELP!" will have other users approaching this in a much more constructive mindset.

forumuser14, are you using Manjaro, or another derivative distro?

Re: HP M1132 not working on Arch linux! (Ubuntu ok)

The second link in the original post is an example of why one should not use random howtos from around the net.  Installing stuff with yaourt, then breaking the Python link configuration by linking Python 2 to be the default.  And then the assertion is made the printer does not work with Arch.  Really?

Start by fixing the Arch system that was broken by following that horrible advise.

Re: HP M1132 not working on Arch linux! (Ubuntu ok)

First of all, thanks for all of your replies!

I didn't expect so quick response.
I used original distro from archlinux.org

clfarron4, I'm not holding back packages from [core] and [extra]. I tried to upgrade packages, the same result. (It's not a first installation)

I like Arch linux very much. I used it for a year maybe. All things work well, but printers ... (before Arch I used mostly ubuntu)
It's not a first attempt to make HP printer to work. A good attempt was for canon printer. I have a few notebooks and stand alone computers. I try many times on a different computers - result the same :-(
At the same time, if I reinstall ubuntu 10.04 or 12.04 - printer working like a charm. Then I install on the same computer Arch linux and printing - stuck. Many installations - but no luck.
I didn't find anything on Wiki CUPS that could help me. What is maybe difficult in pacman -S cups cups-filters hplip and so on?
I used "random" howtos because there is no arch Wiki howto for my printer and I'm at an impasse.
Maybe there is step by step howto for that cases?

What Am I doing wrong? Please Help!

Sorry for bad english.

Re: HP M1132 not working on Arch linux! (Ubuntu ok)

Maybe this is related to new versions of cups. > 1.5 ?

For example:
The CUPS Browsing/Broadcasting mechanism which made print queues shared on remote CUPS servers automatically visible for the local CUPS daemon and so for local applications got dropped upstream from CUPS 1.6.x on
https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu … r-browsing

Maybe something else is missing from the versions > 1.5 ???
