GMA500 Flickering

Hello! I have a laptop Insys DNote WVC03 that uses a Poulsbo GMA500 graphics card. The problem is that the screen is flickering all the time and I think it's a kernel issue because it flickers on TTY too. What can I do? Which info should I provide? Thank you!

Re: GMA500 Flickering

Including the word Intel will probably help us who don't know graphics card by their project names.

I assume you've gone through these Wiki pages: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/poulsbo and https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Intel_Graphics (ooh, the latter link says the Intel GMA 500 isn't supported by the Open Source drivers)

Could you please post kernel version and the contents of xorg.conf please?

Re: GMA500 Flickering

Here is the kernel version:
Linux atom 3.14.4-1-ARCH

I'm not using xorg.conf

Re: GMA500 Flickering

Arch doesn't use xorg.conf any more --- just individual .conf files in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ wink

Forgot about that... Oh wait, I'm using AMD Catalyst, so that explains why I'm still using one.

OK, take two: @sealanco, are you using any files in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ to configure your graphics card?

Re: GMA500 Flickering

clfarron4 I'm not using a config file for my graphics card in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d
Anyway, I think it's a kernel problem because the flickering happens in TTY too.

This is the output of 'dmesg|grep gma'
