umount not flushing after systemd-212 update

Hi, I was under the impression before that umount is supposed to flush I/O operations but typing umount into the console for mounted drives did no such thing
(until I downgraded to systemd-210)

Is this a bug or have I misunderstood something ?

I'm posting on bugzilla the same enquiry specifically to systemd team, but it's mixed in with a previously resolved yet related confusion I had with udev not being able
to mount after the systemd upgrade. I'll ask about that in another thread but in case they don't answer I'm asking here specifically about the umount
thx

What does umount have to do with systemd? systemd is not the kernel (API), nor is it the provider of the umount binary (application).

Re: umount not flushing after systemd-212 update

Ok I know what happened now, its related to udev. Since they took out udev's functionality to mount/unmount in the latest update
my old udev rule was still being read and although the mount scripts weren't executing with the original effect, their being called still messed up umount somehow even though I mounted the drives manually.
