[SOLVED] Slow boot and systemd errors

Hello guys,
my Arch distro is slow since time and I have some errors at the boot that I couldn't solve.
Here my systemctl

LOAD = Reflects whether the unit definition was properly loaded.
ACTIVE = The high-level unit activation state, i.e. generalization of SUB.
SUB = The low-level unit activation state, values depend on unit type.

118 loaded units listed. Pass --all to see loaded but inactive units, too.
To show all installed unit files use 'systemctl list-unit-files'.

Then I have some nectl that are starting but some of these profiles are even not existing.
For now I have also windows installed and the system also mount the Recovery and System Revocery partition.
Plus, if I don't plug-in my Toshiba external drive at boot, the process doesn't continue.
How shall I solve?

Thanks.

Re: [SOLVED] Slow boot and systemd errors

If the profiles don't exist, then disable the services.
Please post the output of systemd-analyze critical-chain

Re: [SOLVED] Slow boot and systemd errors

I stop and disable them, but at the next reboot they appear again.

But mostly is also annoying me the fact that if my TOSHIBA external usb drive is not connected at the boot, the process goes in waiting for a process.
It is exacty the job called dev-disk-by\x2duuid-c4996074\x2d4502\x2d4ba7\x2dbd37\x2d9f2479486bc1.service.
Should be a mistake that I did with NTFS-3G.

Re: [SOLVED] Slow boot and systemd errors

Could you now post your /etc/fstab file?
Also, the output of ls -l /etc/systemd/system/*

Re: [SOLVED] Slow boot and systemd errors

You have four netctl services that will try to start a boot.  I assume you don't need all four of these.

Re: [SOLVED] Slow boot and systemd errors

Exactly!
But when I stop and disable all of them, they appear again at the next boot.
I don't know why!

Go into /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants and delete those links for the netctl services you do not want.

I am still pondering what to do with those ntfs mounts of yours.   Do you want all those ntfs volumes to mount every time?

Re: [SOLVED] Slow boot and systemd errors

No, I would need just the Shared Data to mount and the TOSHIBA disk with read and write rights without be root, but not mounted in the boot.

Update: files removed and netctl errors solved.
Now the nount part.

PS. I have also an issue with netctl and one with alsactl, but I dunno whether to open another topic or do it here (but they also apear at the boot).

I was disabling with

sudo systemctl stop ...service...
sudo systemctl disable ...service...

Now I deleted the files and it works.

Re: [SOLVED] Slow boot and systemd errors

Try adding noauto to the volumes you do not want (need) to mount at boot in /etc/fstab.  It will look like:

UUID=2EB65C8BB65C5605   /media/Recovery ntfs    defaults,nls=utf8,umask=0222,noauto    0       0

That might work. YMMV.  I don't have any NTFS volumes in my fstab, so I cannot check that.

Re: [SOLVED] Slow boot and systemd errors

Perfect, thanks!
It works!!!
So, the topic is solved.
Could you just take a look at the list of my first post, with all my systemd units, and give me your opinion about something that is useless?
I see that the system spends like 7 seconds at the beginning cleaning the chache and showing the process starting with sys-dev.
What shall I do with the other two issues? Open another topic?

Please.  Also, mark this topic as solved by editing your first post and adding [SOLVED] to the beginning of the thread title.
Thanks

I'll look through it, but I may not get back to you tonight.  It is getting late (UTC-7)
