Can no longer shutdown or reboot as user using systemd

If I try and run

systemctl poweroff

I get the following error:

Failed to execute operation: Connection timed out
Failed to start poweroff.target: Access denied
systemctl reboot

gives almost the same error:

Failed to execute operation: Access denied
Failed to start reboot.target: Access denied

Any ideas on how I can fix this?

What has changed since everything worked fine? Have you recently updated your system? Have you dealt with the .pacnew files if there were any?
What's your setup, is this ssh, virtual machine or ...? http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/s … 17763.html

Re: Can no longer shutdown or reboot as user using systemd

This has been a problem for a few weeks, I've hoped more recent updates would fix it.

This is on my laptop, not a virtual machine or ssh.

pacman -Q | grep polkit

returns:

lxpolkit 0.1.0-3
polkit-consolekit 0.112-2
polkit-qt 0.103.0-2
