[solved] Lenovo battery maintenance for Linux?

Hello all,

Im using thinkpads at work (T510@win) and at home (T420s@arch). The battery on the T510 was completely down. I started the recalibration tool (energy manager...) by Lenovo and it seems, this battery got a 2nd life. Now I ask myself how to perform that with Linux? Is there any similary tool available? AFIK this Lenovo tool uncharges and recharges the battery. I could do it also manually...or not?

Have a nice weekend

...

thx demian

tp_smapi allows you to force drain the battery, so yes, you can do it in linux, too.
/sys/devices/platform/smapi/BAT0/force_discharge
