Arch Servers.

Well, I was looking for a dedicated server and just happened to stumble across this provider https://www.ts-host.com/ I clicked order now to check what Distros they offered and was VERY surprised to see Arch Linux there. I'm considering buying one, mainly because they offer Arch and they seem quite cheap. Does anyone here use them?

Indeed interesting, and they seem to have decent hardware also.
I am looking for a dedicated server myself, if they were located un europe also, i would certainly consider them.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

Re: Arch Servers.

But US hosting is sooo much cheaper. Is it really that important where the host is?

It sure does, if the majority of your visitors are from Europe and the perception is critical. Latency can be very important for the perception of the speed of the website. From any host I demand 20ms max for any serious website I develop. If I ping to that website I get latencies of 120 up to 140 milliseconds.

Btw, I don't think the prices are really that much different. For example PCExtreme.nl offers very competitive prices, even compared to US hosting.

Compare this with this, for example. Mind you that this is just an example.[/url]

Re: Arch Servers.

What other hosting providers are there that offer Arch?  Not that its a big deal, but I'm being hosted on Fedora.

You can alsways opt for a colocated server. The initial investment is high, but monthly fees are MUCH lower.
