Arch freezes on HP PC

I have an HP Pavilion p6-2100 and sometimes it will randomly freeze. I have no memory issues or anything like that, but it does tend to happen when doing something hardware intensive.

Anything interesting in the logs or systemd's journal?
What do you mean by 'hardware intensive'? I/O, CPU ...?

Re: Arch freezes on HP PC

I checked the logs and there's nothing abnormal and as for hardware intensive I mean while using applications that take up quite a bit of CPU/GPU time

Re: Arch freezes on HP PC

I would bet it's the graphics card/video driver.

This PC seems to have an AMD graphics card. If you don't know exactly what card it is, run lspci.

I would try changing from the proprietary driver to the open source driver, or the other way around. For more info, see https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ATI.

I've changed to the proprietary driver and it still occurs although less often.
