Hi,
i just ran a "pacman -Syu" on my system and there were lots of kde packages selected for an update. But now the whole desktop is broken. Everytime i log in i'm presented with a white screen an a few broken plasmoids. There is nothing else on the screen, just white. A reboot didn't help either.
Is there anyone with the same problem and/or a solution?

for me all was upgraded smoothly, did you try another pacman -Suy to try if the're still packages to upgrade ? and login your session in "safe mode" ? some messages at end of "dmesg" command related?

The upgrade went smoothly for me also, try deleting the kde cache files at ~/.kde4/cache-xxxx and check your dmesg for errors.

Just a guess, but when I've had similar issues before it turned out that my partition with /var was full (probably due to /var/cache/pacman/pkg). This seems to cause random failures in KDE without sensible error messages. Worth a look?

lol you were right. 0 bytes left on the '/' partition due to left over packages in /var/cache/pacman/pkg. There was no warning message from the system.
Thanks everyone.
