"eth0" usage in wiki

One of the first issues I ran into in installing arch some time ago was understaning Freedesktop Predictable Network Names . I got use to it and am mindful of remembering that my nic has a different name.

However, when I go to the wiki I noticed that there are still a lot of references in the wiki to "eth0" describing how to do some networking function.
Case in point, I'm setting up Qemu and bridge networking but these pages use "eth0" to describe the nic, but the nic on a system is now dependant on where it is installed in the hardware.

I guess my difficultiy is when reading the pages to not use "eth0".
Anyone else run into this?

There is nothing else sensible that could be put in place of "eth0".  It is reasonable to expect arch users to know a little about their system.  "eth0" may still be accurate for many users who disable the predictable naming scheme - in fact if there was a single interface name that fit a plurality of users, it would certainly be eth0.

The wiki pages can certainly be edited to make it clear that the commands presented are examples and that the user would have to specify their own interface.  In many cases this is already done (as it is generally done for block device names like /dev/sdxN).  If there are cases where this isn't clear, feel free to improve those pages: it is a wiki.

For easy using you can just rename your network interface to eth0 if you want. Here is description in wiki
