I am trying to get a USB microphone working under Arch and so far I have not been able to get it to work. As far as my googling has told me, I need to enable the snd_usb_audio module. The problem is that I don't have this module in my system, nor can I find anywhere to download it from. So I guess my question is, what should I do to get this microphone working? It is a Logitech USB microphone.

The module exists under here, but for some reason modprobe and insmod can't load it.
/lib/modules/3.15.1-1-ARCH/kernel/sound/usb

It works fine here. Reboot and try again.

Well, sorry to cause the trouble guys, but after a reboot it seems to work fine. I didn't change anything though so I don't really know why that would cause it to magically start working, but regardless it works now. Thanks!
EDIT: I did however add some packages called alsa-oss and lib32-alsa-oss (because i'm working with skype), in the hopes that it might fix something. I don't think that had anything to do with it, as the module is supposed to be there anyways. Perhaps I did a kernel update and didn't reboot into the new kernel and somehow that was affecting the loading of modules, but I don't remember doing any kernel updates.

SOLVED: Turns out I did install the 3.15 kernel update yesterday and had no rebooted, this was causing issues with USB devides and other modules. Thanks for the help anyways. I guess sometimes a reboot really does solve some issues.

A reboot is in order *everytime* a kernel update is made.
