Hi! I already asked this question on LQ.org but noone seems to reply yet, so I thought to ask also here.
Upgraded my Arch yesterday and now I can't launch SMplayer. I start it and promt says "SMPlayer v. 14.3.0 launched in Linux", cursor goes to new line and nothing further happens. And if I open any media file with smplayer I get the sound after a delay but no GUI. Tried to remove config of the program in ~ but had no luck. Searched Google, they say to "chown ~/.gnome2" to my user and group which I did and it didn't solve the problem. How do I make the program to start?

Hmm, smplayer uses Qt... so not sure why ~/.gnome2 would make any difference!
Can you try renaming your configuration directory, and see if it starts OK?
mv ~/.config/smplayer ~/.config/smplayerOLDEDIT: sorry, didn't see you'd tried this already - oops!
