[SOLVED] K3B - problems with writing Bluray discs

Hi,

I've got Arch Linux 2014.06 and problem with burning BD-R discs using K3B application.

Before I write any data I always check what is the capacity of the disk in K3B. K3B tells that there are 23.3 GB free space on disc.
I prepared about 23.2 GB (there were about 100MB free on disc) of data and tried to burn it in K3B. After burning 100% data I get an error:
"The data doesn't fit the disc". The BD-R disc was unreadable.

I thought that I prepared too many data, but for test tried to burn those data on Fedora 13 and on this linux everything went ok. Fedora 13 uses older K3B version: 2.0 as I remember.

I had the same or similar problem on Fedora 17 but there were "I/O error" after burning 99% of the disc.
I tried to decrease amount of data on Fedora 17 but the problem still occured.

Any ideas what is the problem?

Re: [SOLVED] K3B - problems with writing Bluray discs

Hi,

I think I've found the workaround for problems with writing BD-R using K3B.

K3B allows to select application for writing data on disk. I noticed that the problems with writing occurs only when there is "wodim" app selected.
When I switch it to "cdrecord" the disk has been written without any problems and about 2 or 3 times faster when I tried to write using "wodim".

Seems like "wodim" has a bug or creates bigger ISO image and because of it doesn't fit the BD-R disk.

Maybe this info will help someone else.
