Arch instelled on usb suspend not working

Hello,

Just got an Asus Zenbook UX32VD, and I had a stick with arch INSTALLED on it so I decided to try it out.
Everything seems to work fine except when I close the lid or suspend the device by other means, when I wake it up it acts as if I have removed the usb drive(I tried removing it while it was running and I get the same symptoms): The wm still runs(i3), I can look around, but I cannot use any command whatsoever.
Now my question would be how do I keep the usb from suspending?
I tried installing laptop-mode and blacklisting the usb stick, but still doesn't work.
I tried setting usbcore.autosuspend and usbcore.autosuspend_delay_ms to -1 and rebuilt the initramfs, but I see no change in /sys/bus/usb/.../power/autosuspend or autosuspend_delay_ms. But still not sure if this would help.

AFAIK suspending works on a live USB, so I guess it should work on an USB installation as well.

I have not had the chance to try it on a PC so far, so I'm not sure if it's related to the laptop in any way.

Any ideas? I'm pretty sure there's something I'm missing here.

Thanks
