Hi,
I have got problem with keyboard or fonts in Xorg xfce4.
I did: "pacman -Syu" today and after reboot I cannot use polish fonts under Xorg.
The effect is like for example <alt>-a - like typing enter key.
I selected polish keyboard in Xfce4 configuration manager but the problem still occures.
What is going on? Any ideas?

I've just fixed it. I add:
Option "XkbLayout" "pl"
into /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evdev.conf file and now I've got polish keyboard under Xfce4.
Hovewer I'm wondering how it worked before (yesterday) without this option. The only thing I did today was the pacman -Syu.
Maybe there is another solution for this problem?

There is an issue with libxklavier, downgrade libxklavier-5.3-2 to libxklavier-5.3-1 actually solves the problem.
cd /var/cache/pacman/pkg && sudo pacman -U libxklavier-5.3-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz

Thank you DeltaKilo, your solution works for me!
wtx's solution unfortunatley didn't.
I'm not very experienced with this kind of thing. Does that mean there's nothing we can do about it and we have to wait until libxklavier gets fixed before being able to install any updates via pacman -Syu? How long does such a fix usually take until it's out? How will I see that it is now safe to upgrade (like will there be a version 5.3-3)?

Thanks DeltaKilo, it worked for me too!
I did what wtx said and it not only didn't work, but also after trying it I restarted my computer and the graphic interface didn't launch, I had to try Alt+F2 and reedit 10-evdev.conf with nano. But thanks wtx anyway, not all the solutions work for everyone.
Thanks kalsan, because I have the same questions as you. Anyone who knows?

I'll be adding it to the IgnorePkg line of /etc/pacman.conf and waiting for 5.3-3 or higher.
Claire is fine.

Yes, that would be an option. However I will never remember to remove that ignorePkg once the new version is out. Isn't there a way to just skip 1 particular version?

Hello,
I started my laptop today and after a system update and a reboot the layout of my notebook is set from german to englisch. I always used xfce4-keyboard-settings to change the layout and it worked. Now, doesn't matter what language I set, it is always englisch. I also installed xfce4-xkb-plugin to switch on the fly but it only shows the american flag as indicator for the langugage. Even if I remove english.
These are the packages that were updated. Maybe one of them is the reason why I have this issue.

Sorry, as it looks like there is already a thread about that problem here https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=183640

One word more from my side:
I am able to switch to polish keyboard using following command under Xfce4 terminal:
setxkbmap -layout pl
maybe this solution will help someone.

Well there is the --ignore=libxklavier flag you could use for pacman every single time you update...

There's a -3 update in [extra] now (ignoring mirror sync) so test that please and if there are any problems, please let felixonmars know in the bug report: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/41046

The update still doesnt solve the problem.

The update still doesnt solve the problem.
I take it that's the libxklavier 5.3-3 update in [extra]?
Could you please try installing these "private builds" provided by felixonmars with the following command and report your findings to the bug report please:
i686
pacman -U http://pkgbuild.com/~fyan/staging/libxklavier-5.3-3-i686.pkg.tar.xz
x86_64
pacman -U http://pkgbuild.com/~fyan/staging/libxklavier-5.3-3-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
I found that these "private builds" work, but I haven't got as far as testing the package in [extra].

There is a 5.4-1 now, I will try this. And report back.
Edit: 5.4-1 fixed it for me.
